Congratulations to Peter Ray and his Shaw 650 crew on Barely Legal, for winning the prestigious NSW Title in a fleet of 9 boats, with some pretty hairy conditions. With winds gusting up to 30+ knots, managing the boat proved important, and the Shaw 650 lads managed to get two bullets on the first day finishing on top.

The Victorian state titles over at Mornington last weekend saw a reversal of the conditions seen at the NSW states - Saturday saw light winds - Sunday saw survival conditions for the fleet with a 28 knot northerly in effect and a challenging harbour channel for the fleet to get off the beach the race committee wisely decided to cancel the days racing, meaning the results from the first day stand.
Well done to Peter Ray and his Barely Legal team: new Victorian SMS champions, as well as taking out PHS in Mornington. President of ASBA Chris Bland also is a podiumwinner, with 3rd SMS with Pornstar, the original Shaw 650 with the (arguably) still best name!
