Manic Smashes the Sail for Hope Around Conanicut Island; 650s Taking Over!

10 / 10 / 2012

Alex Watson showcased the performance of the Shaw 650s, racing Manic in the Sail for Hope Race as part of the Autumn racing scene in Newport, and putting in an outstanding performance indeed!

Taking 2 hours 48min approx to get around the course, Alex was one of the quickest boats on the water, beating the two new VX1s on the water by around 17-19 minutes, and many of the larger boats in divisions above him. After applying handicaps, racing on a PHRF of 99, Manic ended up winning Division 6 by almost 15min, and recording the quickest corrected time overall out of the bigger boats.

Closer to home, the sailing scene is just starting to kick off in Australia, with Lickety Split unveiling a new kite which will see them racing and preparing for the coming season.

Production has now already commenced on the next 2 production Shaws, in preparation for the coming Australian season and next northern hemisphere spring sailing.
